ARTICLE 1
SECTION 1: NAME, COLORS, AND ADDRESS
​

THE ORGANIZATION SHALL BE CALLED “MCHENRY COUNTY CHEERLEADING ACADEMY” ALSO KNOWN AS “MCCA”.

THE COLORS ARE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE. (PREDOMINENT COLOR RED)

SECTION 2: BOARD. THE BOARD SHALL MEAN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
SECTION 3: THE CORPORATION SHALL BE SET FORTH AS A NON-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. TO BE OPERATED AS A 501 © (3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1986, AS AMENDED, OR THE CORRESPONDING PROVISION OF ANY FUTURE FEDERAL TAX LAW SECTION 501 © (3). THE PURPOSE OF THIS CORPORATION ARE TO CREATE A SAFE, HONEST, AND POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR CHILDREN THROUGH THE SPORT OF COMPETITIVE CHEERLEADING.

ARTICLE 2
MISSION/ PURPOSE
​
​MCHENRY COUNTY CHEERLEADING ACADEMY IS GIVING SMALL TOWN ATHLETES THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THEIR PASSION A REALITY. MCCA IS DRIVEN BY HONEST AND HARDWORKING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS AND UPSTANDING LEADERS WORKING TOGETHER AS ONE TO MAKE THEIR COMMUNITY A SAFER PLACE FOR THEIR CHILDREN. OUR STRUCTURE IS BASED ON POSITIVE INFORCEMENT, HEALTHIER MENTALITIES, A COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT, HONEST COMMUNICATION, AND A LOT OF FUN.

THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH THIS ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED IS TO FURTHER PROMOTE THE PROGRESSIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SPORT OF YOUTH CHEERLEADING THROUGH ORGANIZATION, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND ITS FOUNDING SUBURBS. OUR PROGRAM IS NON-DENOMINATIONAL, NON DISCRIMINATORY, AND UNBIASED.

​1. TO TRAIN, COACH, AND INSTRUCT A SUCCESSFUL CHEER AND TUMBLE PROGRAM WITH POSITIVE INFLUENCE IN A COMFORTABLE AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT. ​
​2. TO INSPIRE THE COMMUNITY, SCHOOLS, CHURCHS, AND PARK DISTRICTS AROUND US BY SUPPLYING A WHOLESOME AND HONEST ORGANIZATION.
​3. TO MOTIVATE THE ATHLETES OF MCCA AND PRACTICE THE ART OF TEAMWORK, SPORTSMANSHIP, RESPECT, AND FAIR PLAY.
​4. TO ACCEPT DIVERSITY AND CULTURE WITH AN OPEN MIND AND HEART.
​5. TO RESPECT THE MCCA FACILITY, AUTHORITY, OPPONENTS, AND ALL ATHLETES.
6. TO HELP OUR ATHLETES DEVELOP SELF CONFIDENCE AND FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT.
​7. TO PROTECT OUR YOUTH AND PROMOTE A PROGRAM THAT IS DRUG-FREE.

ARTICLE 3
MEMBERSHIP
​
THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OF THIS ORGANIZATION SHALL CONSIST OF PARENTS, GUARDIANS, VOLUNTEERS, ATHLETES/CHEERLEADERS, COACHES, JUNIOR COACHES, INSTRUCTORS, AND BOARD MEMBERS. ANY YOUTH MEMBER IS ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE AS LONG AS THEY ARE WITHIN THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BY THE TERMS OF MCHENRY COUNTY CHEERLEADING ACADEMY. ANY YOUTH ELIGIBLE BY AGE OR GRADE AS SET FORTH BY MCCA’S RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL PARTICIPATE AND BE ELIGIBLE. MCCA SHALL LET MEMBERS PARTICIPATE DESPITE FAMILY OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SHALL VOTE ON THE ACCEPTANCE OF PARTICIPANT REQUESTS REGARDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ASIDE FROM WHAT OUR PAYMENT PLANS OFFER.

ARTICLE 4
MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING OR MEMBERS IN NEGATIVE STANDING
​
A MEMBER, WHO IS IN GOOD STANDING, IS DEFINED AS A PARENT/GUARDIAN WHO IS ACTIVE WITHIN MCCA. THEY HAVE PAID ALL THEIR REGISTRATION & STATE FEES, VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME DURING FUNDRAISING EVENTS, AND ARE ACTIVELY UP TO DATE ON ALL PAYMENTS, COSTS, OR ANY TYPE OF FUTURISTIC EXPENSES.
​
A MEMBER, WHO IS IN NEGATIVE STANDING IS A PARENT/ GUARDIAN WHO IS NOT ACTIVE WITHIN MCCA. THEY ARE NOT UP TO DATE WITH PAYMENTS OR THEY ARE BEHIND WITH PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. A NEGATIVE STANDING CAN MEAN THAT FEES HAVE NOT BEEN PAID ON TIME OR THAT VOLUNTEER HOURS HAVE BEEN MET.
​
A MEMBER THAT HAS BEEN REMOVED OR SUSPENDED FROM THE ORGANIZATION IS NOT IN GOOD STANDING. A MEMBER PUT ON PROBATION IS NOT IN GOOD STANDING. IF A MEMBER LIES ON THEIR BACKGROUND CHECK, CONTINUOUSLY USES PROFANITY AROUND OTHER ATHLETES OR HAS ILL INTENTIONS TOWARDS THE ORGANIZATION THEN THEY ARE CONSIDERED A PERSON IN NEGATIVE STANDING.
​
MCCA DOES NOT TOLERATE INAPPROPRIATE SOCIAL MEDIA POSTINGS, VIDEOS, OR CHANNELS BEING DISPLAYED ON ATHLETES PERSONAL ACCOUNTS OR PAGES. VULGAR BEHAVIOR OR LANGUAGE IS ALSO NOT TOLERATED ON ANY OF THE ATHLETES SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES. THIS ALL FOLLOWS SUITE UNDER A NEGATIVE STANDING.

ARTICLE 5
BOARD OF DIRECTORS/ VOTING/ MEETING
​
​1. GENERAL MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC NEED TO BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD TO ELECT A PERSON ONTO THE BOARD IF THERE IS AN OPEN POSITION AVAILABLE. THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS NEED TO HAVE GIVEN THEIR APPROVAL BEFORE ANY PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE BOARD TAKES PLACE. THE PERSON WANTING TO APPLY FOR AN OPEN POSITION DOES NOT GET A VOTE DURING THE VOTING PROCESS BUT DOES NEED TO PLEAD THEIR CASE AND EXPLAIN WHY THEY ARE A GOOD FIT FOR THIS POSITION.
​
2. BOARD MEETINGS SHALL RUN ONCE A MONTH AND ALL MEMBERS ARE TO BE PRESENT. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS WILL RUN THE MEETINGS WHILE THE SECRETARY TAKES NOTES DURING THE MEETING. MEETINGS WILL BE HELD IN SUCH A PLACE DESIGNATED BY THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS AND WILL DO SO IN AN OPEN SESSION BUT MUST BE PLACED ON THE MCCA CALENDAR AT LEAST A WEEK PRIOR TO EVERYONE KNOWING SO ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE PROPERLY MADE. ALL MEETINGS ARE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNLESS INVITED GUESTS ARE APPROVED IN ADVANCE.

​​3. THE MCCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS SHALL CONSIST OF A BOARD APPROVED PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT KNOWN AS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS. OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BOARD SHALL CONSIST OF A SECRETARY, TREASURER, AND CHEER DIRECTOR.

4. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT ON THIS DAY 5/22/25 WE HAVE OPEN POSITIONS FOR TREASURER AND SECRETARY. UNTIL THESE ROLES ARE FILLED THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL FILL AND UPHOLD THESE POSITIONS.

5. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONSISTS OF NO MORE THAN TWO EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS KNOWN AS THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT ALONG WITH THREE ACTIVE PARTICIPATING BOARD MEMBERS CONSISTING OF THE FOLLOWING ROLES: SECRETARY, TREASURER, AND CHEER DIRECTOR. THE BOARD WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER ROLES AT THIS TIME UNLESS THE GROUP UNANIMOUSLY VOTES ON A NEW NECESSARY POSITION.

​6. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE DECISIONS THAT NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AND WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON HOW MCCA OPERATES. ANY DECISIONS THAT NEED TO BE MADE ON AN URGENT BASIS WILL REQUIRE THE ATTENTION OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS UNTIL THE WHOLE BOARD CAN BE UNIFIED.

​7. ALL NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS SHALL SERVE A 2 YEAR TERM. AFTER 2 YEARS, ALL POSITIONS ARE UP FOR RE-EVALUATION.
​

BOARD MEMBERS CAN CHOOSE TO CONTINUE THEIR COURTSHIP OR WRITE A LETTER/EMAIL STEPPING DOWN (6 MONTH NOTICE PREFERRED).

AT THE END OF THE 2 YEAR TERM, CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS ARE VOTED TO STAY IN THEIR CURRENT POSITIONS BY THE GROUP AS A WHOLE.

AT THE END OF THE 2 YEAR TERM, BOARD MEMBERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE AN ALTERNATE POSITION IF IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.
-
EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO OVERRIDE THE BOARD AS A WHOLE IF THEY FEEL CERTAIN POSITIONS ARE NOT A GOOD FIT FOR THE ORGANIZATION. THEY CAN GIVE REASONS WHY THEY FEEL POSITIONS WITHIN THE BOARD SHOULD BE CHANGED.

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS WILL SERVE A 4 YEAR TERM AND DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO BE REMOVED BY NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS UNLESS THEY VOLUNTARILY LEAVE THE PROGRAM OR PASS THEIR POSITION TO ANOTHER MEMBER WILLINGLY.

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS WHO SERVE THEIR TERM AND THEN DECIDE TO LEAVE WILL NEED TO WRITE A LETTER OF DISMISSAL.

IF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ORGANIZATION LEAVES AFTER A 4 YEAR TERM THEN THAT POSITION RIGHTFULLY GOES TO THE VICE PRESIDENT.
-
IF THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE ORGANIZATION LEAVES AFTER THEIR 4 YEAR TERM THEN THAT POSITION IS OPEN AND AVAILABLE FOR ANY BOARD MEMBER TO TAKE WITH THE CONSENT OF THE PRESIDENT.

​​8. BOARD MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND 8 OUT OF 12 MEETINGS PER CALENDAR YEAR. IF A BOARD MEMBER MISSES MORE THAN 4 MEETINGS IN A CALENDAR YEAR THEN THE BOARD IS SUBJECT TO VOTE ON A POSSIBLE DISMISSAL FOR THAT SPECIFIC BOARD MEMBER.

CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS CAN APPLY FOR VACANT POSITIONS THAT BECOME AVAILABLE IF THEY SEE FIT WITH THAT POSITION.

CALLING INTO A MEETING VIA FACETIME IS ACCEPTABLE BUT IN PERSON IS PREFERRED.

9. IF A BOARD MEMBER HAS A SPECIFIC IDEA, CONCERN, OR REQUEST; THE DISCUSSION SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP AND HANDLED AS FOLLOWS:

1ST PRESENT THE IDEA, CONCERN OR REQUEST TO ONE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR(S)

2ND IF THE IDEA IS SOMETHING WE CAN HANDLE ON A SMALLER SCALE AND IT'S APPROVED BY THE EXECUTIVE BOARD THEN BEGIN THE STEPS OF PUTTING THAT IDEA INTO MOTION.
-
3RD IF THE IDEA REQUIRES A VOTE THEN PREPARE TO PRESENT IT AT THE NEXT BOARD MEETING.
-
4TH - IF THE BOARD VOTES AND IT'S A TIE (2 AND 2) THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL HAVE THE ULTIMATE DECISION.

10. IF A BOARD MEMBER IS NOT CARRYING OUT THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES THEN A DETAILED DISCUSSION NEEDS TO HAPPEN AT THE NEXT BOARD MEETING. ALL MEMBERS NEED TO BE ON BOARD WITH POSITIVE BEHAVIOR, HEALTHY CHANGES, A CONFIDENT MINDSET, AND EFFECTIVE CRITICISM ESPECIALLY WHEN DEALING WITH SPECIFIC BOARD MEMBER ISSUES/ ATHLETES/ SITUATIONS AND CONDITIONS.
​
11. ALL BOARD MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND 2 OF THE 3 FUNDRAISING EVENTS SPONSORED BY MCCA EACH CHEERLEADING SEASON.
​
12. EACH BOARD MEMBER IS REQUIRED TO FIND 1, $500 SPONSOR EACH CALENDAR YEAR SUPPORTING MCCA ON OUR OWN. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE SPONSORING THEIR OWN ATHLETE IF IT IS THEIR SON OR DAUGHTER.

13. BOARD MEMBERS ARE TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AT ALL TIMES. THEY ARE TO LISTEN TO BOTH SIDES OF EVERY STORY AND NOT TAKE SIDES NO MATTER WHAT. BOARD MEMBERS ARE NOT TO TALK BEHIND OTHER BOARD MEMBERS' BACKS AND TO BRING ANY CONCERNS WHATSOEVER TO THE MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS. WE WANT TO REMAIN AS "DRAMA FREE" AS POSSIBLE AND WORK TOGETHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. IT'S EASY TO GET SUCKED INTO FAKE NEWS AND FALSE STORIES BUT AS BOARD MEMBERS WE NEED UNDERSTAND OUR FOCUS.

14. BOARD MEMBERS ARE TO KEEP ALL FINANCIALS, CRITICAL MEETING INFORMATION, AND ATHLETE INFORMATION BETWEEN OUR BOARD MEMBERS. BOARD MEMBERS ARE TO KEEP ALL INFORMATION DURING MEETINGS CONFIDENTIAL. IF ANYONE LEAKS CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION OUT- THAT SPECIFIC BOARD MEMBER RISKS GETTING REMOVED FROM THE BOARD AND FROM THE PROGRAM.

15. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS HAVE FULL ACCESS TO THE MCCA CHECKING ACCOUNT. THE NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEE THE CHECKING ACCOUNT WHENEVER POSSIBLE. THE PRESIDENT WILL ANNOUNCE MCCA'S FUNDS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MONTHLY MEETING.

16. BOARD MEMBERS WHO HELP FINANCE FOR MCCA OR PUT FOURTH THEIR OWN MONEY TOWARD THE PROGRAM WILL GET REUMBURSED FOR SAID AMOUNTS THEY HAVE CONTRIBUTED.

ARTICLE 6
DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
​PRESIDENT (EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER)
​
1A. SHALL FIND AND SUSTAIN PROPER LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR MCCA. SHALL MAKE SURE THAT PAYMENTS ARE MADE ON TIME AND THAT IT DOES NOT EXPIRE OR LAPSE.
​
​1B. SHALL FIND AND FURNISH A SUITABLE PRACTICE LOCATION AND MAKE SURE THAT THE FACILITY HOUSES PROPER CHEER MATS AND NECESSARY ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT THAT IS UP TO PAR WITH PROPER SAFETY EXPECTATIONS AND REGULATIONS.

​1C. SHALL PURCHASE MCCA UNIFORMS, PRACTICE WEAR, SHOES, BOWS, AND COMP GIFTS FOR ALL MCCA ATHLETES ALONG WITH GIFTS FOR OUR COACHES, JUNIOR COACHES, AND VOLUNTEERS.

1D. ADDRESSES HOW MANY ATHLETES HAVE SIGNED UP FOR CHEER BASICS, TUMBLING, AND COMPETITIVE CHEER ON EACH MONTHLY MEETING.
​
1E. UPDATES THE WEBSITE MCHENRYCOUNTYCHEERACADEMY.COM AND HANDLES ALL THE PAYMENT AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION WHEN ATHLETES SIGN UP.
​
​1F. HANDLES DISCIPLINARY ACTION, WRITE UPS, DISPUTES, INCIDENT REPORTS, AND OR ARGUMENTS BETWEEN ATHLETES OR MEMBERS.
​
1G. COLLECTS PAYMENT FOR ALL CLASSES, COMPETITIONS, CAMPS, AND PROGRAMS. HAS ACCESS TO THE CHECKING ACCOUNT AND CAN WRITE CHECKS FOR COMPENSATION AND FOR EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT. THE PRESIDENT SETS UP PAYMENT PLANS FOR MCCA MEMBERS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION.

​1H. THE PRESIDENT CONDUCTS DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION AND ALSO GIVES SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE TO THE VICE PRESIDENT.
​
​1I. THE PRESIDENT IS THE PRIMARY PERSON IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. THEY WILL MAKE SURE THE FACILITY HAS FOLLOWED ALL CITY ORDINANCES, SAFETY PROTOCOL, FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, HEALTH/SAFETY POSTERS, FACILITY HAS SANITIZING STATIONS, FIRST AID KITS, ICE PACKS, ALARM SYSTEM IN PLACE, ETC.

1J. SENDS OUT COLLECTION NOTICES, PAST DUE BALANCES, AND FEES TO MEMBERS WHEN PAYMENTS ARE PAST DUE.
​
​1K. THE PRESIDENT OVERSEES ALL SQUADS AND STAFF MEMBERS ALONG WITH OVERSEEING THE FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM.
​
​1L. SHALL HELP CONTROL, CREATE, IMPLEMENT, AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH ALL THE MCCA BYLAWS.
​
1M. SHALL BE IN CHARGE OF DESIGNING AND DISBURSING ORGANIZATIONAL SURVEYS.
​
1N. ATTEND TOWNSHIP MEETINGS TO HELP STENGTHEN RELATIONSHIP WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
​
1O. RUNS SOCIAL MEDIA ADS ON COMMUNITY PAGES WHEN IT’S TIME TO REGISTER FOR CHEER FOR THE SEASON.
​
1P. WORKS WITH SPONSORS, COLLECTS PAYMENTS, HELPS WITH NETWORKING AND DISTRIBUTION OF SPONSORSHIPS ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.

​VICE PRESIDENT (EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER)
​
​2A. OVERSEES THAT GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE IS NOT EXPIRED
​
2B. SHALL WORK WITH DIFFERENT CHEER SHOPS AND DIFFERENT VENDORS TO FIND AFFORDABLE CHEERLEADING UNIFORMS THAT FIT WITHIN OUR BUDGET. SHALL GET 2-3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF UNIFORMS FROM VENDORS AND SEE WHAT TYPE OF UNIFORM WOULD BE SUITABLE FOR MCCA. THE VP WILL REPORT ANY ANTICIPATED EXPENSES TO THE SECRETARY DURING THIS TIME.

2C. ASSIST IN SCHEDULING MONTHLY BOARD MEMBER MEETINGS, PARENT MEETINGS, AND SENDS OUT EMAILS/ FLYERS REGARDING INFORMATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH ATHLETES/ PARENTS.

2D. RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING UP SPORTS MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE (EXAMPLE: SPORTSENGINE, GAMECHANGER, TEAM SNAP, ETC.) REPORTS ANY ANTICIPATED EXPENSES TO THE SECRETARY DURING THIS TIME.

2E.. HANDLES DISCIPLINARY ACTION, WRITE UPS, DISPUTES, INCIDENT REPORTS, AND OR ARGUMENTS.

2F. COLLECTS PAYMENTS
​
2G. THE VP CONDUCTS DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION AND ALSO GIVES SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE TO THE PRESIDENT.

​2H. THE VP WILL BE THE SECONDARY ON CALL PERSON IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. THEY WILL MAKE SURE THE FACILITY HAS FOLLOWED ALL CITY ORDINANCES AND SAFETY PROTOCOL.
​
2I. THE VP OVERSEES ALL SQUADS AND STAFF MEMBERS ALONG WITH OVERSEEING THE FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM.

2J. RESPONSIBLE FOR DOING ALL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ALL INTERESTED COACHES, JUNIOR COACHES, INSTRUCTORS, PARENT VOLUNTEERS, AND HELPERS. AFTER THIS IS COMPLETED, COPIES OF THIS WILL BE KEPT WITH PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY IN THE MCCA OFFICE.

2K. WORKS AND MANAGES CHOREOGRAPHER AND THEIR SCHEDULING.

3A. SHALL ISSUE NOTICES OF BOARD MEETINGS TO ALL BOARD MEMBERS.

​3B. RESPONSIBLE FOR RECORDING NOTES, TAKING MINUTES, AND ATTENDANCE DURING ALL MONTHLY MEETINGS.

3C. THE SECRETARY WILL COORDINATE SPACE AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE HAS ROOM AND TIME TO TALK DURING ALL MEETINGS.

3D. THE SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE AS AN ORGANIZATION ARE FOLLOWING SAID BY-LAWS.

3E. THE SECRETARY WILL BE IN CHARGE OF REGISTRATION PAPERWORK. THEY WILL MAKE SURE THAT FORMS ARE FILLED OUT CORRECTLY BY ALL ATHLETES.

3F. THE SECRETARY IS IN CHARGE OF MAKING SURE THAT PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS AND CHEER PROPOSALS ARE ACCEPTED BY ATHLETES IN A TIMELY MANNER.

3G. THE SECRETARY WILL BE IN CHARGE OF MAKING SPREADSHEETS OF OUR MEMBERS WHO ARE ON PAYMENT PLANS AND WHEN WE NEED PAYMENT RECEIVED.

3H. THE SECRETARY WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE VICE PRESIDENT IN REGARD TO BACKGROUND CHECKS TO MAKE SURE EVERY SINGLE MCCA MEMBER IS SAFELY CHECKED. THE SECRETARY WILL KEEP A TALLY OF WHOSE BACKGROUND CHECK NEEDS RENEWAL AND WHOSE HAS EXPIRED.

3I. THE SECRETARY ENSURES ALL ATHLETES AND MEMBERS HAVE CLEAN SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES FOR THE DURATION OF THE CHEERLEADING SEASON.
​
​3J. THE SECRETARY WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE PRESIDENT AND CONTACT ATHLETES THAT HAVE NOT MADE PAYMENT. THEY WILL KEEP A DETAILED LOG/SPREADSHEET OF NON-PAYMENTS AND PAST DUE PAYMENTS.

​3K. THE SECRETARY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE IN SETTING GOALS FOR MCCA ON HOW WE CAN INCREASE SALES AND BOOST REVENUE.

​3L. THE SECRETARY SHALL IMPLEMENT AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE MCCA BYLAWS.

3M. SCHEDULES MONTHLY BOARD MEMBER MEETINGS, INFORMATIONAL EDUCATIONAL PARENT MEETINGS, AND SENDS OUT EMAILS/ FLYERS REGARDING INFORMATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH ATHLETES/ PARENTS.

4A. ENSURE THE PROPER CODE OF CONDUCT AS PER THE MCCA GUIDELINES AT PRACTICES, COMPETITIONS, AND ALL MCCA EVENTS.
​
4B. THE CHEER DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WORKING DIRECTLY WITH COACHES, JUNIOR COACHES, VOLUNTEERS, INSTRUCTORS, AND PARENT HELPERS. THEY ARE THE LIAISON BETWEEN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND MCCA.

​4C. THE CHEER DIRECTOR ENFORCES PROPER RULES AND REGULATIONS WHEN IT COMES TO PRACTICES, STATE COMPETITIONS, AND MCCA EVENTS. THEY SET THE TONE FOR BEHAVIOR, ATTITUDE, HOW THE ORGANIZATION IS VIEWED AS A WHOLE AND THEY ARE LITERALLY THE FACE OF MCCA. THEY MUST DISPLAY A POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN FRONT OF ALL PARENTS, COACHES AND ATHLETES AND BE THE PERSON TO STOP ANY NEGATIVE BEHAVIORS, PESSIMISTIC CONVERSATIONS, OR DISHONEST TALK. THEY ARE TO NOT FEED INTO DRAMA BUT TO STOP IT DEAD IN ITS TRACKS AND TO ACT AS LEADERSHIP AND HAVE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR, CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, AND OBJECTIVE PROBLEM SOLVING.

​4D. THE DIRECTOR OF CHEER LEADS OUR ATHLETES WITH THE UTMOST OF PRIDE AND DIGNITY.

4E. THE DIRECTOR IS THE PRIMARY CONTACT WHEN WORKING WITH THE ICA. THE CHEER DIRECTOR WILL ATTEND ALL MEETINGS IN RELATION TO THE ICA AND MAKE SURE WE ARE FOLLOWING ALL NECESSARY RULES AND REGULATIONS ACCORDING TO ICA STANDARDS. THEY ALSO KEEP ALL PARENTS INFORMED OF SPECIFIC CHEER INFO, CHANGES, AND UPDATES TO SCHEDULING OR PRACTICES. THEY KEEP AN OPEN RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ICA DURING CHEER SEASON. NOTE: MAKE FRIENDS WITH MAGGIE AT THE ICA.

4F. RESPONSIBLE FOR REGISTERING ALL SQUADS FOR THE CHEER SEASON THROUGH ICA PAGE.

4G. RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRIVING EARLY TO ALL ICA MEETINGS.

4H. THE CHEER DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SCHEDULING A COMPLETE BACKUP PLAN OR FOR HAVING A BACKUP PLAN IN PLACE FOR ALL COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS IN THE EVENT A COACH OR INSTRUCTOR CALLS IN SICK OR CALLS OFF OR NEEDS SCHEDULED TIME OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON FOR REASON UNKNOWN.

4I. RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING UP ALL CHEER & TUMBLING CLASSES WITH ALL HEAD COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS. ALSO IN CHARGE OF SETTING UP SUMMER CAMP DATES AND TIMES.
4J. RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING IN WITH ALL SQUADS PERIODICALLY. IF A CHILD HURTS THEMSELVES AT A MCCA PRACTICE, COMPETITION, OR EVENT THEN THE CHEER DIRECTOR HAS 24 HOURS TO FILE AN INCIDENT REPORT AND TO HAVE PAPERWORK ON FILE.

​4K. RESPONSIBLE FOR COMMUNICATING THE NEEDS AND WANTS OF WHAT THE ATHLETES AND COACHES NEED IN ORDER TO SUCCEED AT MCCA. THIS ROLE IS ALSO HUGE WHEN IT COMES TO TIME INVESTMENT.

​4L. THE CHEER DIRECTOR SHALL IMPLEMENT AND FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE MCCA BYLAWS.

TREASURER (OPEN POSITION)

5A. THE ROLE OF THE TREASURER INVOLVES OVERSEEING AND MANAGING THE FINANCIALS OF THE ORGANIZATION.
​
5B. THE TREASURER COMES TO EACH MEETING WITH IDEAS ON HOW TO RAISE MORE FUNDS FOR OUR ORGANIZATION. THEY ARE OPENING UP EACH MEETING WITH HOW MUCH MONEY WE CURRENTLY HAVE IN THE ACCOUNT.
​
5C. THEY MANAGE THE BUDGET, INCOME, AND EXPENSES. THEY OVERSEE FINANCIAL PLANNING AND WHAT EXPECTATIONS LOOK LIKE FOR THE FUTURE.
​
5D. THE TREASURER MAKES SURE THAT ALL ATHLETES ARE PARTICIPATING IN ALL FUNDRAISER EVENTS. THEY KEEP A TALLY ON THE ATHLETES THAT ARE NON PARTICIPATING. THEY KEEP AN ACTIVE LOG ON ALL FUNDRAISING NUMBERS (EITHER NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE).

5E. THEY WORK WITH OUR TAX ACCOUNTANT END OF YEAR TO TURN IN SPECIFIC DOCUMENTS THAT NEED TO BE SENT OVER TO THE GOVERNMENT. THEY ENSURE TAX FILINGS ARE FULFILLED ON TIME AND LEGAL FILINGS ARE SUBMITTED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
​
5F. THE TREASURER SENDS OUR SPONSORS ANY AND ALL PAPERWORK NEEDED TO COMPLY WITH THEIR REQUESTS TO FURTHER A DONATION. THIS CAN BE OUR TAX ID PAPERWORK OR 501C3 INFORMATION.
5G. OUR TREASURER HELPS BY APPLYING FOR GRANTS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR SO THAT MCCA CAN ATTEMPT TO INHERIT ADDITIONAL FUNDS TOWARDS OUR NON FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION.
5H. THE TREASURER COLLECTS PRE WRITTEN CHECKS IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON IN THE EVENT MEMBERS DO NOT DONATE THEIR TIME TO THE ORGANIZATION.

​ARTICLE 7
ATHLETES & MEMBERS
​
1. ANY PERSON WHO HAS ENROLLED THEIR ATHLETE INTO MCCA SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE BY-LAWS.
​
2. ANY PERSON WHO HAS ENROLLED THEIR ATHLETE INTO MCCA SHALL PARTICIPATE IN A MINIMUM OF 6 MANDATORY VOLUNTEER HOURS PER FAMILY. IF BY NOVEMBER THE FAMILY HAS NOT PARTICIPATED IN USING THEIR VOLUNTEER HOURS THEN THEIR $100 PRE-WRITTEN CHECK WILL BE CASHED.
​
3. ALL MCCA UNIFORMS WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL ATHLETES AND WILL NOT BE EXPECTED TO BE RETURNED. UNIFORMS CAN BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. TO BE USED AGAIN UNIFORMS NEED TO BE STAIN FREE, VIBRANT AND COLORFUL, HAVE NO HOLES, AND MUST BE IN THE CONDITION IT WAS HANDED TO THE ATHLETE IN AT THE START OF THE SEASON.
​
4. MEMBERS CAN BE DISQUALIFIED BY NOT CONFORMING TO THE BY-LAWS. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS CAN AND WILL USE THEIR DISCRETION TO VOTE PEOPLE OUT WITHIN MCCA IF THAT ARE NOT IN GOOD STANDING, NOT A GOOD FIT FOR THE MCCA ORGANIZATION, OR A PROPER FOLLOWER OF THE BY-LAWS.
ARTICLE 8
RULES & REGULATIONS
​
1. EVERY ATHLETE PARTICIPATING IN MCCA MUST FILL OUT A REGISTRATION FORM AND ALL FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. IF FORMS ARE NOT RECEIVED BY THE END OF CLOSED REGISTRATION THAN THE ATHLETE IS CONSIDERED NOT REGISTERED FOR CHEER.
​
2. EVERY ATHLETE MUST FOLLOW THE ATTENDANCE POLICY SET FORTH BY THE MCCA ORGANIZATION WHICH IS NO MORE THAN 4 UNEXCUSED ABSENSES IN A SEASON. IF AN ATHLETE IS SICK FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS IN A ROW THAN A DOCTORS NOTE IS REQUIRED TO RETURN BACK TO CHEER.
​
​3. A $25.00 FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR CHECKS THAT HAVE BOUNCED OR THAT READ NSF.
​
​4. CHEERLEADER RULES/REGULATIONS ALONG WITH CHEERLEADER PARTICIPATION ARE TO BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES.
​
5. ALL ATHLETES/CHEERLEADERS ARE TO FOLLOW THE BY-LAWS OF MCCA.
​
​5A. ALL CHEERLEADERS MUST WEAR PROPER PRACTICE WEAR TO PRACTICES AND MCCA ATTIRE TO COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS. CHEERLEADERS ARE TO FOLLOW THE CODE OF CONDUCT AND DRESS IN PROPER ATTIRE WITHOUT HOLES, DIRTY CLOTHING, AND OR SLANG WORDING.
​
​5B. ALL UNIFORMS ARE TO BE KEPT CLEAN AND PRESENTABLE AT ALL TIMES. ANY UNIFORM DAMAGES DUE TO IMPROPER CARE THAT REQUIRE A REPLACEMENT WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE ATHLETE PAYING FOR ANOTHER UNIFORM OUT OF POCKET.
​
​5C. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AT ANY TIME AFTER AN ATHLETE HAS REGISTRED. NO EXCEPTIONS AT ANY TIME.
​
​5D. ALL ATHLETES ARE EXPECTED TO SHOW POSITIVE SPORTSMANSHIP AT ALL TIMES.
​
​5E. MCCA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ATHLETES GETTING HURT OR INJURED AT THE MCCA PRACTICE FACILITY, PRACTICE LOCATION, TEMPORARY LOCATION, AT AN EVENT, OR IN THE PARKING LOT AT MCCA. IF THERE IS AN INJURY- MCCA IS NOT LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY UNFORSEEN INJURIES TAKEN ON BY THE ATHLETE/CHILD.
​
​5F. ALL ATHLETES AND PARENTS JOINING MCCA UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WILL NOT HOLD MCCA LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES THAT MAY HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. PARENTS AND ATHLETES AGREE NOT TO SUE MCCA OR TAKE MCCA TO COURT FOR ANY UNFORESEEN INJURIES THAT MAY HAPPEN DURING PRACTICES, TRAININGS, COMPETITIONS, OR STUNTING.
